Serving Advantage Students Excel at USTA SoCal Adaptive Unified Doubles Qualifying Tennis Tournament...Let's Get Them to Nationals!
In a momentous event, Serving Advantage students, marked a significant milestone in their tennis journeys as they participated in their inaugural USTA SoCal Adaptive Unified Doubles Qualifying tennis tournament. With Unified Doubles Partners consisting of dedicated Serving Advantage volunteers and coaches, it was a day filled with invaluable lessons, camaraderie, and a whole lot of fun.
This event was a testament to the power of inclusivity and the determination of both the students and their mentors to break barriers in the world of tennis. Serving Advantage, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing tennis opportunities to students with diverse backgrounds, has been working tirelessly to ensure that everyone, regardless of their challenges, can enjoy the sport of tennis.
The day was nothing short of inspirational, with students and mentors alike showcasing their incredible teamwork and sportsmanship on the tennis court. The event highlighted the importance of adaptability and unity, as students with different abilities worked together seamlessly to chase their shared dreams of success in tennis.
One of the most thrilling outcomes of the tournament was the victory of one of our Serving Advantage teams, student Gavin Wong and his Doubles Partner Volunteer, Konhee Lee. Their remarkable performance earned them the golden ticket to advance to Nationals at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, scheduled for November. This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and sheer talent of our students and their mentors.
We appreciate the support of the USTA SoCal and USTA in their recognition and support that demonstrates our students are not only deserving of opportunities, they are capable of excelling in the sport, and they acknowledge the potential within our student population.
As we look ahead to the National tournament, there is an overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation among the Serving Advantage community. The opportunity to compete at such a prestigious event is an incredible milestone. It's a chance for our students to showcase their skills on a national stage and inspire others with their determination and passion for tennis.
We will be sending out information on how to help Gavin and Konhee get to Nationals! It's a big trip and our goal is to cover their expenses so the doubles team can focus on playing good tennis and soaking up every incredible moment!
